Dear lord Rothschild.....

I have much pleasure in conveying to you, on behalf of his Majesty's government, the following declaration of sympathy with Jewish Zionist aspirations witch has been submitted to, and approved by, cabinet:" His Majesty's Government veiw with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people, and will use their best endeavours to facilitate the achievement of his object, it being clearly understood that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non - Jewish communities in Palestine, or the rights of political status enjoyed by in
any other country......
I should be grateful if you would bring this declarations to knowledge of the Zionist federation......

عزيزى اللورد روتشلد:

يسرنى غاية السرور أن ابلغكم بالنيابة عن حكومة جلالتة التصريح التالى الذى ينطوى على العطف على امانى اليهود والصهاينة، وقد عرض على الوزارة وأقرتة:
((ان حكومة صاحبة الجلالة تنظر بعين العطف الى تأسيس وطن قومى للشعب اليهودى فى فلسطين وستبذل قصار جهدها لتسهيل تحقيق هذة الغاية على ان يفهم جليا انة لن يؤتى بعمل من شأنة ان ينتقص من الحقوق المدنية والدينية التى تتمتع بها الطوائف غير اليهودية فى البلدان الأخرى........

وسأكون ممتنا إذا ما احطتم الاتحاد الصهيونى علما بهذا التصريح.......
